Kevin is one of three Kevins in the band. He’s a Brummie, raised in the Black Country, worked up north then moved to Suffolk with his wife, Theresa, to be near Silicon Fen.

Kevin first had brass lessons with Sandwell Education Authority in the West Midlands and played with Sandwell’s youth brass bands. He’s extremely grateful to have travelled with them to Austria, America, Denmark and Holland giving him the opportunity to perform in Vienna, Washington, New York, Disneyworld and Legoland. Kevin joined Skelmersdale Prize Band while working up north, where he met Theresa, and performed with Skem’ Band in the Royal Albert Hall for the lower section national finals. He’s also helped out Southampton Brass Band where he performed on the QE2 while it was safely moored in Southampton docks.
Kevin and Theresa both joined Haverhill Silver Band shortly after relocating to Suffolk and Theresa re-formed what is now the Haverhill Youth and Community Band. Kevin has never quite managed to leave the ‘Silver Band. He’s played in both euphonium seats, both baritone seats and all of the tenor horn seats. He’s also been the band’s kit drummer and the band’s percussionist. At the Folkestone contest he’s won the best euphonium solist prize and has been part of the best percussion section but he hasn’t yet worked out how to get both prizes in the same year.
He thinks there should me more than three Kevins in the band.
